4 days and counting
well its now 4 days till i start the new job, and i have no shortage of things to get accomplished. the more important being getting my sleep fixed. i'm waking up at strange hours after few hours of sleep and still feel next to dead. i wanted to chat with lancer earlier, but i completely missed him. so sad.
shane clued me into a new series on abc called 'lost'...i'm now in the process of watching the four available episodes, the 4th of which aired just tonight. it's shot beautifully and has an eerie 'x-files' feel to it and it doesn't hurt that i'm a sucker for a good plane crash...i highly recommend checking it out.
the last few days have left a lot to be desired as far as performance with rogers internet service, specifically with torrents. most of the time, download grinds to a standstill leaving web browsing slower than 28.8k dialup. i checked the event log and noticed a fair number of entries for exceeding the max number of connections....and then noticed my processor usage was up to 100% steady with only abc running. so, i updated to the new test version of abc, 2.7.0 and changed max connections to 60, down from 100. i ran the patch and haven't had a problem since...no more evil waiting. though i haven't had any evil resulting from the patch, i shall not be held responsible if you do...
off i go, 2 more episodes of 'lost' before i sleep....
