a slight case of overbombing

my path to a fruit filled centre....
i've decided that from now on, i'm going to write my todo lists AFTER i complete the tasks...far less disappointing....here goes number one....
a) see Anchorman
b) get job
c) drink diet crack with lime
d) gain 40 lbs
e) incorporate a block of dill flavoured havarti cheese into my daily food intake
f) spend money i don't have
whooooo i'm all tuckered out after writing that list...time for a nap...

so cathartic....
i stumbled across a fun ap...once i installed it, i spent about 3 hours just playing and trying out features. i'd love to tell you what it does, but alas, I don't believe it does anything...it's kind of like an etcha sketch that does colours and stuff...try it...it's gloodle.

sleep is for the wicked....
yes, it's true. i am once again sleep deprived. oh well...once i'm good and dead i'll have lots of time to sleep.
excitements for today included bites on my resume from several interesting companies...hopefully the one i want will come through, and i can get a big discount on my favorite model of pocketpc....i'm now 5 days from unemployment and the panic is pretty stable, but things are looking up.
i decided on where i'm going to take my technical writing program. humber college has a great program, which is comprised of two separate certificates - technical writing and computer studies for technical writers. the first chunk is mostly the theory of writing, presentation and design. the second goes indepthly into software like robohelp and framemaker with coding in html, xml and java. in total, the two programs consist of 11 courses, but i can knock it down to 9 by overlapping the 2 electives from the first program onto the second. i probably won't go that route though, because i want to know everything! i will most likely overlap the framemaker course and take technical editing as an elective, leaving me with 4 more courses required once i finish the first section.
i installed microsoft onenote this evening, which looks absolutely perfect for outlining writing projects. it lets you freeform chunks of text and then drag them around from spot to spot. i love it. so does this dude. i also reinstalled streets and trips because i was too lazy to select canada from the hideous setup at mapquest to look up a potential employers location. note to mapquest, get a clue, get a .ca domain so i'm not forced to search for the evil 'canadian address' thing. or maybe a cookie that remembers that i have never looked up an american address...i'm not about to start now.
need an accessory for your kyocera cellphone? feeling a little dull in the kitchen? check out these puppies...knives with gusto!
i'm going to go lay in the dark and wish i was asleep...

nostradamus predicted i'd be a far better predictor than he was....
okay, i've been putting this off for over a week...but the time has come. the official 'tart's list of impending things to come sooner or later' is here! behold my predictions!
1) mark wahlberg will do something newsworthy...maybe he'll die, maybe he'll sprout breasts. who knows? but i can assure you, the funky bunch will not attend this great event.
2) our society will continue to think it's hip and cool to be a thuggish gangsta type...and i will continue to watch on in disgust. sucka.
3) In tribute to Jon Stewart, CNN will cancel crossfire...oh wait....i was late.
4) paul martin will get a haircut. bono on the otherhand will not.
5) ruffles will announce a new flavour of chip....vodka....to mix with new Coke with Lime! on roadtrips....
6) Coke will recognize that i drink 4 litres each day of it's most popular flavoured diet softdrink Diet Coke with Lime and offer to pay for my medical expenses once the massive wall of empty cans falls over and crushes me...not unlike a lime into a diet coke...
7) a new wireless provider will come to canada, offer me a job and after a few months decide they want to change their direction, leaving me poor and unemployed....(note to self: do not apply at virgin wireless)
8) trent reznor will come to toronto, play a show and realize that i am the coolest person ever and have me set him and leo up with all of my cool girlfriends. hmmm....nix that. i must be wrong. i'm sure he only likes mac girls, and i don't know any of them....
7) the massive popularity of exergames such as DDR will cause the majority of north americans to lose weight...eliminating the obesity problem as well as millions of jobs in the junk food, health club and exercise equipment industries, thus spiralling our nations into a massive recession in which we are forced to eat the remaining fat people to survive.
8) rogers and bell will be good corporate citizens, showing integrity, humanity and thoughtfulness in its HR and operating procedures, always thinking of the effects of their actions on employees, customers and the general public.
9) the tart will learn how to count
watch and learn little one....we shall see.
come... pull my string...
seems as though my 'i need a new monitor to apply for jobs' theory is paying off...i have applied for 17 jobs today. yay for me. it'll be funny as hell if i end up cleaning fry vats at mcdonalds for a living, eh?
i am currently listening to Depeche Mode - the singles 1986-1998....and wow, does it sound good. I should have done this audigy 2 thing a long time ago...was listening to u2 earlier, and i heard things I didn't even know where there before. it might have something to do with listening to files encoded with flac, a spiffy codec...a lossless codec. booyah.
my sushi dinner plans fell through for tonight...something to do with a wedding dress and a mom....rescheduled for next week...lol i'll have lots of time then....
geek girl wigs out...
been a while, n'est pas? well, i've got tons of updates to bring you right up to date with my super duper exciting life...
on the work side of things...there's not much news other than the previously mentioned impending unemployment effective jan 16...i've had a few bites for temp gigs, but nothing solid yet. i'm super keen on doing something with hp, but i'll have to keep my fingers crossed.
i woke up early this morning to do a mass hunt for jobs, but quickly became frustrated with my monitor. back in september my monitor decided to do this crazy thing where the picture shrank horizontally along the centre...kinda like |) (| .... very annoying to look at for extended periods of time. so i did something which i may come to regret, or appreciate greatly....I went out and bought a new monitor. not such a smart move for someone with no job soon, but i think i will encourage me to be more proactive in my search for a new employer. we shall see....it's an LG t710 ez-flat shadow mask 0.24mm...it's kinda ghetto, but dang it pretty to look at.
so while i'm down there, i figure i saved a bunch of cash for buying a 17" instead of 19, so I decided to replace my mono soundblaster live (more like sb dead) with a shiny new Audigy 2 zs.
i got them both installed, yanked the tvwonder pci out of the tvslave and for the first time in about 9 installations over 6 months, got the puppy to work on the pretty hate machine.
in all, the hate machine should be a power machine after the amount of cash i've dumped into it lately...it's not hideously shabby, but it's not quite up to stuff. a few weeks back, i popped in a thermaltake silent purepower 480w w/pfc in black and an lg 16x dvd+/-rw, dual layer burner in black...
now of course, if you read my entry a few weeks back, you're saying to yourself "what the hell happened to the hardware procuring priority list? is she mad?" my answer to you is an astounding 'YES!' get over it. so the list is revised somewhat...same order, but the monitor and soundcard have now been removed. now just need mobo and processor....mmmmm, i can't wait.
life is stupid right now, so i'll leave that out from the update. just waiting for the recycle bin to empty...the junk is just sitting out on the curb...I know its there, and kind of miss it, but fighting the urge to go bring it back inside. i'll be much better once it's collected and taken away...hows that for an analogy?
the broken kitten has proved to be less broken than i thought. i was sitting here earlier calibrating my new soundcard/speaker setup and noticed the cat was playing...the cat never plays, so this was a bit odd...and she kept at it for a long while...i took a peek around the back of the monitor and noticed she was batting around something, which i assumed was a a bug....then i saw it move....so i got up and took a closer look, and by god, the broken kitten had beaten up a mouse. i was truly astounded and even attempted to take pictures (the lighting in here is hideous, so they didn't turn out so well.) i realized the mouse may have been poisoned, so it probably wasn't a good idea for me to sit and watch my cat gnaw on the corpse...but i had no idea what i was supposed to do. so i called trevor over and we removed the mouse to the outdoors....about 10 minutes later, the flipping cat had another one! this time, i was prepared...once she was done batting the thing around, i collected the beaten rodent and sent it flying off the back stairwell to the snowy abyss....kinda funny how the very process that alerted me to a problem with mice, eliminated the problem....i have a mouser...how sweet.
