a slight case of overbombing

i give bell the thumbs up!
so its been a couple of days since i blogged...been stupid busy. installed win 98 on the hate machine, completely ignoring the fact that win xp may never boot again...c'est la vie. i'm not too worried about it...like really, what does it matter? since installing win 98, i've installed and finished gabriel knight 2...cheated of course. i'll be damned if i spend 3 days trying to figure out how to corner some wolf guy. the game was good, but was lack lustre compared to the first, mainly due to the lack of tim curry...his 'nawlins' accent is right sexy and well, i like him fine. the switch from animation to real video was also a downer for me, but overall, the game is chock full of chewy goodness. i was entertained. attempted to grab gk3 off of the boys network, but alas have no connectivity for some reason. keith is offline, so it will have to wait until tomorrow.i have just installed grim fandango and have just finished watching the opening cinematic...might play a few minutes before bed.
on the real life front, things are looking up. i started at bell today. my orientation package said i started at 3:30 am, so this morning at 1 am, i hopped on the subway and made the pilgrimage to bells happy campus at dixie/eglinton. while hopping on the subway went well, but on arriving at kipling, the bus i was to catch was m.i.a....so through a reroute that beat all reroutes, i arrived at the big destination at 3:24 am, following a 50 minute jaunt from renforth. 2.2 miles....on arrival, it became apparent that there was in fact a typo on my orientation package, and was told to leave and investigate in the later morning hours...so i walked the 2 miles back to renforth and came back home, phoned HR lady and went to bed. HR lady phoned back confirming the only mistake was the a for the p in pm. so i woke up at noon, and headed back up....the training class is neat, especially computer phobic judy and trainer vance....everytime i hear his name i expect him to spin around and change into is crime fightin' costume...not sure why it instills images of superheros, but hey....the most bizarre thing of the day was discovered when completing the bell organization module....after so many years of reading articles about rogers, a fair amount of info about bell has sunk into my cranium. i knew weird things and vance laughed and said i was a bell geek at heart. by about 9 pm tonight, i was a bit of a mess and started chiming in with my sarcastic comments...no permanent damage was done though. vance laughed and the other trainer just looked at me with a blank stare. overall, was a great day. got to laugh for the first time in a long time, starting to get really lonely. everyone seems very friendly and i can feel a very welcome sense in the air. i feel the weight slowly lifting off my shoulders. day 2 starts in less than 12 hours, so i must motor. cheerio until we speak again...
